Autumn turns the hazards over: leaf-slick roads, heating fires, and shorter days ahead

The seasonal risks shift this month, and most of them land on the routine calls rather than the big ones.

Cold-season hazard load starts now — heating fires, CO calls and early ice

The shift into heating season changes the mix of calls you run before the first hard freeze, and the pattern is predictable enough to prepare for.

Hurricane Isaias closes on the Gulf Coast as NWS Mobile posts extreme hurricane and storm surge warnings across six warnings

Two tropical systems hit opposite coasts on Friday while a chain-reaction crash, an ICE shooting and a cluster of unconfirmed satellite fire detections ran in the background — here is your shift read for 9 October 2026.
